I imagine many patrons opt for takeout and enjoy their meals along the waterfront. We chose to sit near the window at the back. I tried the chowder served in a sourdough bread bowl for the first time, and it was quite delicious. We also ordered calamari and clam strips, which were tasty as well. There are plenty of options for clam chowder in the vicinity, so I can't compare it to others, but I definitely enjoyed what we had.
Whenever I travel to San Francisco for a photography trip, I make it a point to eat at this restaurant, and I can genuinely recommend it for a meal. I always order the Clam Chowder served in a bread bowl, and it never fails to impress with its deliciousness. The fish and chips are both crispy and juicy, served with their own tartar sauce. Just a heads up: watch out for the seagulls, especially in the afternoon and evening. As for kid-friendliness, there are colorful outdoor tables and fun statues that make it appealing for families.
I was eager to try the chowder, but unfortunately, it contains bacon, so it's not halal—Muslims take note. Instead, we opted for the seafood platter, which was not beer battered. The seafood was fresh and flavorful, although the batter itself was a bit plain and lacking in taste. Thankfully, the tartar and red sauce really helped enhance it. The fries were thick-cut and had the perfect crispy exterior while remaining fluffy on the inside. The servers were very welcoming and helpful, and we also enjoyed a nice view of the pier.
First time eating chowder's.I think the you can find a better place.14$ and 7$ the local beer.
A few vloggers suggested this place so had to give it a go. Server was polite and really quick to get our clam chowder in sourdough bread bowls. Bread was fresh and tasty, as was the chowder. Very little clam though which was disappointing. Outside seating like any budget seaside food establishment. Make sure you rip of the bread as the chowder goes down or you’re just left with a big lump of bread. Expected a lot more of the good stiff. Should really be advertised as bread rolls with a bit of soup. Not great value at 13 bucks a pop considering the lack of clams.
