Basil Thai Restaurant Bar

One of my favorite Thai restaurants in California! The Pad See Ew is simply amazing. I highly recommend trying the catfish as well—it's a must!

I give five stars for the seafood noodles—they have an incredibly umami broth that leans towards the sweeter side and is packed with fresh seafood. However, I can only give three stars for the crab fried rice. It was quite bland and, in my opinion, a bit too healthy (low oil) for my liking!

Our visit to Basil was a delightful culinary experience. Unlike typical Thai restaurants, this place offers dishes that truly stand out. The Green Curry Roti Taco was exceptional, and the Larb Gai was a flavor explosion, perfectly balancing sweet and salty notes. The classic Tom Kha with chicken was enjoyable but felt like it was missing a subtle touch. The Cheun Yaw and grilled corn were average and not particularly memorable. On the cocktail side, the Sake Leche offered an unusual yet intriguing taste, while the Berry Tequila was a crowd-pleaser, bursting with flavor. Overall, Basil provides authentic Thai cuisine at reasonable prices, along with an impressive drink selection. I will definitely be back, especially for that Larb Gai and Berry Tequila!

**Food:** I don’t know what they do to their spring rolls, but they are the best I’ve ever had—perfectly balanced between crunchy, sweet, and savory. They’re served in a unique way, accompanied by a fresh salad, mint, and cilantro, along with a delicious dipping sauce that I couldn't resist drizzling on the corn cake. The cooked greens and vegetables are perfectly done and don't overwhelm the dish. I highly recommend the Thai-Phoon, a Thai iced tea cocktail made with coconut milk—it's delightfully smooth with little to no alcoholic taste. **Service:** Quite good. **Ambiance:** Trendy and spacious. There is an outdoor terrace, but it’s not heated. When I arrived at 7:30 p.m., the restaurant was only about 20% full, but by 8:30 p.m., it was bustling with around 50% capacity.

There is truly nothing better in the world than delicious Thai food, and this place serves AMAZING Thai cuisine! The Pad Thai was everything you could ever want—absolutely recommend it. They also offer an impressive selection of unique cocktails, including the Thai-phoon, which is a spiked Thai tea. I really enjoyed my experience here! The atmosphere was lovely, the service was quick, and the food was outstandingly delicious. Highly recommended!
