We were seated near the door which is always open and were so cold we needed to wear our jackets the whole time. The restaurant is very noisy inside, so all conversations are very loud and it's tough to hear. Arancinni and wings were excellent, pasta top notch.
Fantasfic neighborhood spot! Very busy and noisy a good noisy. Service was friendly and casual. Salad was very good, their pizza, for me, was meh. I like my pizza crispy and theirs is soggy and soft. I'll definitely be back to try their pasta.
Food was really quite good including pasta cooked perfectly al dente and lovely pizzas and salads. Arancini was a bit heavy and should have been a bit lighter and crispier but still very tasty. Service was decent but holding one's dirty silverware for the next course was awkward especially when having several courses. Overall, excellent and would go again.
At the behest of the management, we decided to give the restaurant a second chance after a very disappointing experience in December. We are so glad we did. Not only was the food excellent from start to finish, but some of it was among the best we have ever had in SF. The arancini, the wings, and all 3 pasta dishes were wonderful. We tried 4 of the 5 desserts and they were phenomenal (the gelatos elicited more wows than I can count). At the risk of not being able to get him again as our server by naming him, Jeremiah made the whole evening truly perfect. From the spot-on recommendations to the right balance of friendly and professional, what an asset he is to the restaurant. Finally, thanks to the manager who reached out to me. You really do have something special going on in that kitchen as well as the front of the house. See you soon.
There are many things to like about this branch of Fiorella, but sorry to say that the food was very disappointing. Regarding the appetizers (crostino, arancini, the escarole and the citrus salad), the first two were fine, even though the bread was overly toasted (i.e, burnt) the flavors were there and the arancini was good, the 2 salads were almost inedible. The escarole salad was drenched in dressing and was overly salted and the citrus salad came minus greens, served warm, covered in chili crisp and salt, so there was nothing refreshing about it. The 2 pizzas we had were the MARGHERITA and the house-made sausage. The MARGHERITA pizza was amazing and saved the dinner while the sausage was boring. Finally, we ended the night with the crab pasta. This was the most disappointing part of the meal. I am Italian and I know al dente pasta, but this pasta came to us so undercooked it was borderline crispy. I had to send it back! It was refired and came back somewhat better but the pasta was never married with the cause so it was some undercooked pasted in a pool of the sauce with some crab pieces sprinkled around. All the while the service was amazing and our server was very accommodating. Not the best experience this time and I 'm hoping that next time will be better.
