Our server was really nice, but our eating was a total missing on this first and probably just visiting. the yellow tail in the Hamachi roll was literally cleaned. I eat a lot of sushi and even forced some not big sushi at social events and literally couldn't eat it. a pregnant woman in our group ordered the steak cooked medium and first it came almost carburized, it was so overcooked, and then when she sent it back the next came rare, so much that she felt uncomfortable eating it. the pieces of our Maki reels were rolled so loose that they fell apart when we tried to pick them up. on the top was their selection good and the wish I ordered on recommendation from our server was excellent. Nevertheless, there are much better sushi options and I would probably not return.

Very good food and service. we went there on a Monday night and it was full! very loud and difficult to get a talk. also the uni was $18 for two pieces that hit me so high as it was about uni. Anyway, we had a great time and the sushi and service were impeccable.

The actual sushi was excellent, the apps were pretty meh. Stick to sushi and sashimi.

Taka was an awesome experience for Sushi in Gaslamp. I would highly recommend for anyone. The key to good sushi is fresh fish. Done. Also, their Saki selection was ample and we really enjoyed the one we chose (can’t recall the name. Service was also fantastic. -Andy
