Islands - San Diego

Moa Crisp was overcooked and dry, sadly. Otherwise I think it would have been pretty tasty!

We ordered the family soup along with guacamole and chips, but we only received the guacamole, which was served in a small cup that was only half full, and there were no chips included. The small bag of chips that came with the large soup order was stale. While the soup was good—something we order frequently—they really need to improve their order accuracy. Additionally, we only received one tiny ranch dressing for the chicken strip meal, which was disappointing.

The Hawaiian burger was a mess, falling apart and swimming in a box soaked with what I can only assume was "teriyaki sauce." The other burger had toppings from the Hawaiian burger mixed in, and it was also sitting in some kind of sauce. What we thought was a dent in the burger turned out to be burnt cheese. The onion rings were greasy and falling apart, while the green bean tempura had many pieces that were overcooked. Overall, the flavor was disappointing at best. I've always loved Islands... why did you have to let us down like this?

The BleuNami was delicious and arrived warm. The onion rings were also tasty, though fried foods tend to lose their appeal if not eaten right away.

The service was excellent. The Hula Burger was cooked perfectly, and the flavors were fantastic. The fries were a bit on the salty side, but still enjoyable. The atmosphere was lively with great music and sports playing on all the TVs. I'll definitely be returning!
