Cafe Athena - San Diego

I have been dining at Cafe Athena for at least18 years. It never disappoints. Delicious food , good service and good wines. They even have a lot of gluten free options. The halibut was delicious.

The food quality is exquisite and prices very reasonable. We were given our own room and great service. No one complained about our talking and moving around. Really a great deal for everyone.

Recently remodeled and it's very nicely decorated inside now! Yummy Greek food and plenty of vegetarian options.

Cafe Athena is a clean, no-frills, laid-back Greek restaurant on the eastern edge of Pacific Beach. They have great Tzatziki and Skordalia. I really enjoyed the Greek salad and the gyro as well. The place was recently remodeled and the interior is really nice now. The atmosphere was cool and chill as well. The downside was the lack of people working. We had some trouble flagging down a waiter although there weren’t many people in the restaurant. I think the staff may be new, and the restaurant may be understaffed, which isn’t really surprising now during the pandemic.

Great food! We got a gyro and dolmades to go. Everything was so delicious and fresh. New favorite restaurant in Pacific Beach.
