Our server, Brand, was excellent, and the manager, Ryan, was incredibly friendly. We came to San Diego for some fun and good food, and we will definitely be back here. Dishes you have to try include the octopus appetizer, the tin-cuffs with shrimp, and the butternut squash ravioli.
Delicious menu. pasta is all homemade. tagliatelle with vodka sauce was for dying!
The true test of a good restaurant is how the management handles issues, and when we spoke to Manager Ryan, he promptly moved us to a better table and even treated us to dessert for our troubles. Our waiter, Grant, provided excellent service throughout the meal. As for the food, it was nothing short of perfect. We enjoyed the prosciutto and gnocchi fritto, a fantastic Caesar salad, and the gnocchi Bolognese (which I requested with a hint of cream). Kudos to Guido, the owner, for his choice of Ryan and Grant. Thank you for an amazing dining experience!
We visited this restaurant before the pandemic during our trip to San Diego, and the food was amazing. So, we decided to return two years later and we were not disappointed! In fact, the food was even better than we remembered, with generous portions and outstanding service. The octopus appetizer was cooked to perfection, and both pasta dishes we ordered were fresh and delicious—definitely the best pasta we’ve had in a long time. We highly recommend this place; it never fails to impress!
Was not a fan of Bencotto. It started with putting the wrong alcohol in my drink. Service was excellent. We started with the cheese and meats appetizer. I ordered chicken parm. It was served with blah mashed potatoes. Not a fan of the combination. While some people may enjoy getting a massive piece of thick chicken breast, I am not one of them. I think it makes it dry and often flavorless. We were with a large group. Most people did not enjoy their meals. 3 of us had chicken parm, one had ravioli, salmon, and gnocchi. Two enjoyed their meals which were the cheese wheel pasta and the other was a create your own.
