However, the toast was a bit on the dry side, and I’m still on the lookout for the perfect rich, custardy French toast. On the other hand, the feedback on both the omelette and avocado toast was very positive. You get to choose your bread with the omelette, which also comes with a small spring salad. The avocado toast includes a side salad with a vinaigrette dressing. The beautiful view on a sunny day truly enhances the dining experience here. And let’s not forget the coffee drinks—they're quite delicious too! The prices for breakfast are reasonable.
We had crepes for breakfast and tried the Berries and Cream variety. They also offer some savory options. The location is fantastic, and we loved sitting outside. Before the pandemic, we would have been seated right in the street, so I appreciate that the restaurant still provides sidewalk seating. The view of the San Clemente pier and park makes it the highlight of the meal. Just a heads up—our coffee cooled down quickly, so be prepared to ask for refills.
I was able to easily find an outdoor table for one at 11 AM on a Thursday. There was minimal street noise, although I was occasionally blocked by UPS and Amazon trucks unloading, but overall the view of the pier and people walking by was pleasant. The service was quick and courteous. I enjoyed my pear and pomegranate salad ($13), which was very tasty. With a soda, tax, and tip, my total came to $20.
The views from this restaurant are as amazing as the food! We had the spinach mushroom crepe? and it was absolute lite delicious! It was huge- enough for 2 people! The coffee and service are also excellent! All of the employees are very welcomingand friendly! Perfect place to spent a beautiful morning along the waters edge!
We arrived at La Galette around 11:45 AM and ran into the lovely Kendall, a server we remembered from our previous visits. Kendall informed us there was a 20-minute wait and took my cell phone number. We decided to take a stroll and snapped a few photos of the pier. Before we knew it, my iPhone buzzed, and we headed back to claim our table on the outdoor patio. It’s hard to complain about having a nice table with an ocean view! A friendly server named Irma took care of us while we ordered lunch. We asked for two small lattes (sadly, no non-fat milk) and two Seafood Shrimp Crepes, which came with onion, avocado, bell pepper, zucchini, house salsa, and jack cheese, served with either potatoes or salad. Indoor dining wasn’t an option due to space concerns for social distancing, but there were plenty of tables on the expanded sidewalk patio, with umbrellas to shield us from the afternoon sun. Our lattes arrived in a reasonable time, but our main dishes took longer than expected. Kendall explained that the delay was because they had been swamped. We enjoyed our delicious lattes while admiring the stunning ocean view across the street. When our lunch finally arrived, it looked amazing. The big, plump shrimp-filled seafood crepes, alongside crunchy potatoes, beckoned us with their presentation. And wow, they were incredibly delicious—with plenty of shrimp inside! We also had a nice chat with Anna, the long-time manager, and another helpful server named Loreen. As always, lunch was absolutely excellent—great service, amazing food, and a beautiful view of the ocean!
