Charcoal grill , omg yes real charcoal and I love it. . First when they bring the charcoal it's so hot in temperature, you will feel the burn in your face. Don't sit too close. I did see some people had to lower the temperature or move seats. You will know when you sit down and feel the heat. . We loved the beef short ribs the la galbi. It was one of out favorite. Also the wagyu brisket is another one we liked. The brisket is thin slice and cooks easy. . The banchans were alright. Nothing too special. Or making me wanting more. But the presentation does look great. . Tofu soup was ok and just your average soup. It wasn't like wow. But it was ok. . House salad, I really like that. It was refreshing and good quality with fresh veggies. I love pairing this with the grilled meats. . Overall I really love charcoal grill. The charcoal does make a difference with the grilled meats. It was an experience and I loved it. You can reserve your table on their website. Parking is on the street which might be kind of hard to find. Hope this review helps. Thanks for reading. Have a yelptastic day. Follow me for more. . The steam egg is great.
AYCE BBQ Charcoal Grill unlimited meats and yummy sides $45 Ugh I wanted to like this place so much, but the smoke from the grill was too much throughout the meal. It was not suctioned very well so our party found ourselves struggling to enjoy the ambiance without smoke in our faces. The food and cuts, were delicious. The kimchi pancake was more squishy than crunchy, not my fave but my friend loved the texture. The banchan made you desire a bit more (9 total) and your classic variety Service was prompt and they used square here. Easy to get their attention for more meats, they changed our grill pan.
Seoul Kalbi is one of the few charcoal kbbq spots left in the peninsula which is definitely an experience. You really get that added smokiness on the meats but it does come with the consequence of making every layer of your clothes smell like smoke and galbi marinade. SK does a really nice job sourcing their meats and you can see the quality in some of the cuts like the galbi, brisket, pork belly, and the butcher cut. Keep an eye out for posters on the wall for daily off-menu specials too. I also really enjoyed the banchan and appreciated the attentiveness of the staff to refill orders like lettuce, ssamjang, and specific banchan you finish. I really wish they offered other wrappings too like rice paper or thinly sliced pickled daikon. The plates with rosemary specifically were super tasty in my opinion SK does charge a wasting fee for food, so just make sure to pace yourself. You cannot take any of the waste home either which I found a bit counterintuitive but rules are rules. I guess people could abuse it but if they are willing to pay, idk. We ultimately were able to pick through our last order enough to evade the fee.
The service at this restaurant was excellent - we were able to order meat as soon as we needed it and the grill was changed and charcoals replenished without us having to ask. Empty plates were also taken away quickly by the attentive wait staff. The ambiance was laid back and perfect for a dinner with friends, with good music to add to the social atmosphere. The food was of great quality, especially the meat, with delicious banchan and a nice presentation. The portions were generous and the cuts of meat were even. The wagyu brisket and kalbi were particular favorites. The charcoal added a great flavor, but it cooks faster with the open flame so be sure to pay attention. Overall, we left full and satisfied and will definitely be coming back for more.
