Bj's Brewhouse - San Bruno

The food was fantastic and delicious! We ordered the parmesan-crusted chicken and calamari.

Our waitress took our drink orders and then returned to take our food orders. We ordered a medium pizza, a burger, three kids’ pizzas, and three kids’ burgers. Unfortunately, she later returned to inform us that they couldn't prepare the burger, but could offer the kids' burgers instead. After waiting 45 minutes for our food to start arriving, we were disappointed to find that the kids' burgers never came. Our waitress then left, and a different waiter took over. He told us that they couldn’t make the kids' burgers at all, and we would need to choose something else. We opted for the kids' pizzas, and the waiter assured us it would only take two minutes. Ten minutes later, we finally received our food. When we wanted to order dessert, the waiter informed us that all the tickets were in the red, meaning it would likely take another 30 to 45 minutes to get it. We decided to pass on dessert. It was clear they were understaffed, yet they continued to seat more guests and take orders. The table next to us had to wait 45 minutes just to place their order. Management should have refrained from seating additional guests if they didn’t have the staff to accommodate everyone. This experience would typically warrant a one-star review, but since the manager comped our entire meal, I've decided to give it three stars instead.

The service was outstanding, but the wait time was quite lengthy. The food was delicious; however, I was disappointed that they didn't have the parmesan-crusted chicken available today.

I am torn. I really wanted to like this place. First they had a limited menu no big deal. Restaurant was not overly clean. Wait staff was very friendly but disappeared. Good was excellent we had a couple mini pizzas and kids tenders. Over all we weresitting waiting for our bill. We ended up asking the staff member to just get our bill instead of ordering dessert. As I said Iwanted to like this place.

For the kids, we ordered a kids' plate that featured mac and cheese, smiley-shaped fries, and chocolate milk. The portion was perfect for our two toddlers to share, and those smiley fries were an instant hit! For the adults, we enjoyed a margarita sampler that included four different fruity flavors, along with a very good IPA (I’m sorry, I can’t remember the name). We started with the avocado egg rolls, which were delicious, and for our main course, we had spicy chicken noodles with nuts. The dish was flavorful, with just the right amount of spice and crunch. All in all, this experience definitely deserves five stars!
