San Antonio Petroleum Club

My wife and I attended a dinner dance this past Friday per invitation of a friend. We arrived at 630. After cocktails, we ordered dinner around 7. We did not receive the main course until around 945. It was too late for my wife to eat because of digestive issues, so she did not eat. However, they did take her meal off of the bill. My food was good, although it came out cold. Strictly a service and dinning room management issue, in my opinion. I'm assuming they are having staffing shortages like a lot of restaurants around town. Nevertheless, when my wife approached the server, he became hostile and refused to apologize for his rude behavior and the poor service. After informimg the dining room manager, even he was reluctant to apologize for the poor service and became very defensive. We were thinking about joining the Petroleum Club, but, are now having second thoughts.

Had a women's club meeting here last week. The room was clean, comfortably cool and spacious with a lovely view. The club reservation included a luncheon, which was set up in another room buffet style and which we shared with others not of our party. The room was rather crowded and people were starting at both ends of any line. The amount of food and the variety was generous, including desserts, but as usual, the plates provided were far too small to get much on them. It was a serve yourself affair, but there was no room to rest the plate so that both hands could be used in selecting food items and making sure nothing was spilled. By the time I was able to return to the meeting room and was seated, the food was already cold.

I have been attending the Club lately for functions with different Organizations and the Staff is amazing! Every day there is a variety of food to choose from either from the Buffet or the Menu. But the privacy of the Country Club is Superb. The Fees are not very expensive and exclusiveness is still one of the best in town. Not very known amongst the public which makes it even better and private. I love taking my Clients to a more private setting and enjoying a phone free environment. Definitely a place to belong to that caters to their members. I just love this place. I visit 2-3 times a week!!!

Attended as part of church Sunday school class Chr istmas party. Wife's filet mignon was very tasty as was my salmon.Food: 5/5

General Manager was rude and extremely unprofessional to our group! We had a corporate training and while the servers were great, the GM attitude was awful!! Definitely need to learn how to treat Veterans. Do not recommend!Food: 3/5
