Nonna Osteria 1604 - San Antonio

I encountered an issue with my reservation, as they had no record of it despite receiving a confirmation call earlier that day. Fortunately, the hostess handled the situation well and promptly seated us after I showed her the confirmation. Our server was quite chatty and shared some of his background while we were ordering. However, throughout the meal, he kept making comments like, "I guess you hated it," as he cleared our plates. Unfortunately, we were not impressed with the food. My dish was surprisingly bland, while my date's meal was dry, and the sauce lacked flavor. Even the lemon tart for dessert was quite tasteless. Overall, we don’t plan to return.

The restaurant was busy, so we were grateful we made reservations. The food was delightful, and our server Colleen was excellent. We loved the Arancini and Burrata appetizers. Watching our server prepare the Tartufo at our table was a real treat. On the hostess's recommendation, we added Cinghiale, which was incredible. The raspberry and lemon sorbet made for a perfect finish to our meal. We will definitely be coming back!

Nonna is consistently a reliable option for delicious Italian cuisine in the northern suburbs. I don't often give out 5-star reviews, so don't read too much into my 4-star rating. The food is tasty, and the service is quick and attentive. However, it can feel a bit on the pricey side at times, so the overall value is moderate.

We were celebrating a birthday for my girlfriends mom. The staff was attentive to our shellfish allergy. Moe did an exceptional job of providing us with attentive service and recommendations on the menu and drinks while the restaurant was in full swing. Great food, drinks, and service really nothing more you can ask for.

Had an amazing experience. Each dish we tried was fantastic, my favorite being the charcuterie plate, I am so glad we came here. Our server made our time so enjoyable. They were knowledgeable, helpful, and so friendly. The ambience was very nice as you can overlook the bar area and it wasn’t too noisy. Would highly recommend for anyone going out to dinner to celebrate anything. Cant wait to return!
