La Posada Del Rey - San Antonio

We visited the restaurant tonight on the recommendation of a friend with a party of 8. Our bill was over $150.00. The waitress hardly ever visited our table; we had to go to the bar to remind them of the drink orders. We didn't get our food for almost 40 minutes after ordering. When a member of out table went to the front to tell the manager about the difficulties we were having with the waitress, the waitress came over to the table, confronted the gentleman in a rude tone, saying she knew he complained about her and wanted to know what his problem was. He asked her to allow him to finish eating, and she never came back to the table afterwards to fill glasses, etc. While we were waiting for checks, an older, drunken gentleman at the table next to us came to confront a guest at our table about his hat that he had worn into the restaurant. The man was hostile, right in his face, cursing at him in front of 2 small children at the table. He went back and sat down, then came right back a few moments later to start round 2 with the guy at our table. It was humiliating and embarrassing to those at our table, especially the friend the old man was yelling at. The manager didn't come over, didn't say a word and didn't even apologize for the scene. He just stood back and watched. A member of our party discussed the issue with the owner, who basically just walked away as he was paying the bill for a night that was the worst experience ever in a restaurant in San Antonio. We won't be back, not if they let waitresses tell off customers and let drunk customers verbally assault others in the establishment without so much as an apology.
