La Madeleine - San Antonio

I visit this restaurant frequently for lunch with friends and really enjoy both the food and the ambiance. My go-to items include mimosas, French onion soup, crepes, and the strawberry Romanoff. My only complaint is that the portion sizes for the soup can be inconsistent; some staff members are more generous than others. Additionally, I recommend not trying to make changes to your order at the time of payment, as you might end up being overcharged.

My partner and I went out for our monthly daytime date and decided to stop by this place for brunch. It did NOT disappoint! The food was delicious, the atmosphere was charming, and the service was excellent—all at affordable prices! It has all of my favorite elements. Be sure to visit this authentic and delightful French bakery café!

I ordered a grilled cheese sandwich with a Caesar salad on the side, as well as caramel crème brûlée and a berries and cream cheesecake via DoorDash. Everything was good and well-packaged, except for the Caesar salad container, which was open when I received it. I discovered a fly/insect at the bottom of the salad box after I had nearly finished eating it. While everything else was enjoyable, this experience was quite unpleasant. I will have to think twice before ordering from this restaurant again.

I used to order their vegetarian sandwich and really liked it but I went in to order takeout and they told me their menu had changed and the vegetarian sandwich was no longer available. I asked if I could order one of their chicken sandwiches butwithout the meat, just substituted with avocado or cheese or veggies and they said yes. I get home and open the sandwich andTHIS is what I got for the price of a meat sandwich.. bread, mayo and tomato. That?s IT. I could have gone to HEB, gotten myselfbread, one tomato, an avocado and a Mayo packet and I would have made myself a better sandwich and cheaper.
