Hung Fong Chinese - San Antonio

Upon entering the restaurant, we immediately noticed a strange odor. I ordered the green pepper steak while my daughter opted for the shrimp stir fry. The food itself was tasty, but our server seemed to vanish after serving our meals. Overall, I don't think I would return to this restaurant.

The restaurant wasn't anything special, but it was good enough for a one-time visit.

This restaurant offers the perfect American-Chinese dining experience. The atmosphere is relaxed, allowing for casual dress. The menu features delicious, classic favorites that you would expect. The staff is friendly, attentive, and efficient. They also have cute trinkets and goodies available for purchase at the front, including a sweet lucky cat for good fortune. I will definitely be returning with my family in the future.

We went on a Saturday at 1:30 pm it was busy, so we waited 10 minutes to be seated, which was no problem. However, once we we sat, no one ever came to take our order. After 5 minutes a table of 8 beside us finished a group of 6 was sat there after 5 more minutes their order was taken. We waited for 5 more minutes but no servers were present so we left ate elsewhere. For 15 minutes, we were simply ignored it was a full house, but it still seemed ridiculous in comparison to how I've always remembered Hung Fong.

Hands-down the worst Chinese restaurant on planet earth. The utensils and dinnerware were dirty. The service was atrocious. The food was inedible. I posted some pictures of the soup and entree. The entree picured is Mongolian beef and fried rice. There is no need for detail in the flavor nuances. The food here is just downright bad. My wife and I ate here for the 1st and last time on Aug 4th, 2024. Whoever was cooking should be arrested, charged, and sentenced to eat what was coming out of the kitched for the rest of their natural life.
