Hooters - San Antonio

UPDATE: We decided to return after our four-year break, and we were really pleased with the food, the service, and the quick delivery to our table. Because of this experience, we've changed our rating from one star to five stars. Thank you!

The beer is ice cold, the margaritas are delicious, and the food is hot and fresh. The buffalo chicken sandwiches are particularly amazing, and the staff is very friendly.

Delicious! However, it didn't quite meet the Hooters quality I'm used to. The side salad consisted of lettuce, cheese, tomato, and ranch dressing, which didn’t taste homemade anymore. The wings had decent flavor, but the sizes were inconsistent, and some had broken bones. The service was a B+.

After waiting another 15 minutes, we spotted an available seat at the bar, so we decided to sit there for a drink. The bartender glanced at us briefly without greeting us and told us we could place an order. I explained that we were waiting for a table and that we only wanted to order a couple of beers. She looked at us coldly and said she couldn’t help us and that we needed to wait for our table. At this point, I was more shocked by her rudeness than annoyed. I couldn’t believe we weren’t even allowed to order two drinks after waiting nearly 25 minutes in a restaurant that didn’t even seem to be at full capacity, with plenty of empty tables around. We returned to the waiting area, only to find out that they still had our name on the list, and the bartender didn’t bother to look for us at the bar. After watching another party get seated ahead of us, we finally decided that the terrible service wasn’t worth the wait any longer. We left for another restaurant down the street and were reminded of what good service truly feels like. As someone who spent several years in the service industry, I urge the management to train their bar staff and hosts to treat customers with kindness and professionalism. I wish I could give a rating of zero stars, as one star feels too generous.

This special Hooters on Ingram 410/151 is our favorite. My husband and I come regularly because of the consistent food and service is always great, no matter who you get. We have also celebrated several birthdays here, they really make the atmosphere a lot of fun. Note: Only the problem we often run into is the soda or my husband preferred to be outside?
