The food is fantastic, and although the place is small and there might be a wait, it's definitely worth it. Plus, it's very affordable!
This place—what can I say? It's small and gives off vibes of visiting my aunt's and grandma's houses, but it's incredibly welcoming and absolutely delicious. The portions are generous, the flavors are fantastic, and the service is top-notch, thanks to the amazing chefs in the kitchen. It really feels like my grandma is back there cooking everything, especially since the waitress never writes down your order but always, and I mean ALWAYS, gets it right! I even tried to place a tricky order once, but no problem for her—she was on point! So if you find yourself on the West Side of San Antonio, be sure to stop by and grab a taco or six. You definitely won't be disappointed!
Aside from the food always being great, everyone working there was always very nice. We really hoped someone would carry on the excellence but it’s looking like It will not reopen. Too bad. The owner was always smiling and friendly.
Update: It appears that the best homemade dive restaurant in San Antonio may be done. The owner sadly passed away a few weeks ago and it looks like the location may not open again.
