Cowboy Sushi Cafe - San Antonio

I decided to check out Cowboy Sushi due to a Groupon deal, and I'm so glad I did. I really love the concept, and the food was absolutely delicious. It offered a fantastic option for my wife, who isn't a traditional sushi lover, as well as for me. My wife ordered the Roy Roger's, which features cooked roast beef in a roll, and she loved it. I opted for the spicy crab, spicy tuna, and brisket rolls, all of which were fantastic. The menu truly showcases an artful blend of flavors.

This sushi restaurant offers a unique concept that caters to everyone. If you're dining with someone who isn't a sushi lover or has never tried it before, their nontraditional Western options might be a great fit for them, while you can still enjoy your favorite traditional sushi rolls. One standout starter is the Fried Dill Pickle Roll (as shown in the photo), which features pimento cheese and dill pickle inside—perfect for fried pickle enthusiasts. The Annie Oakley Roll, packed with spicy tuna, is also a great choice. Additionally, their dessert menu sets them apart from other sushi places; the Cinnamon Bread Pudding is massive and absolutely delicious.

I visited this restaurant on a Wednesday for lunch, and it wasn't very busy at the time. The service was quick, but I can’t speak to how it would be during peak hours. I personally prefer cooked sushi rolls, and they had a nice variety on the menu. I ordered the Rio Grande roll, and it was absolutely fantastic. My mom tried the John Wayne roll, so I got to taste that as well. It featured beef, which was a unique twist, and I really enjoyed it. I also recommend the edamame; the spicy and barbecue flavors are delicious! I will definitely be coming back!

Took my wife and a few close friends Saturday night for dinner and drinks. THIS PLACE IS AWESOME!!! LOVED the food. Very unique. We had various chef created sushi items as well as the signature Cowboy Sushi rolls. We ate probably 10 rolls! We had a buffalo chicken roll with bleu cheese, pulled pork rolls, brisket rolls as well as some delicious fish and shrimp rolls. I went back Sunday and ordered more rolls to go and some special BBQ edamame. We LOVED IT! They have a VERY cool specialty cocktail menu as well. We had a Bluebonnet Blueberry Mule which was full of fresh fruit while we watched football on the MANY big screen TVs they had. They also have a cool outside patio with sportsgrass and games. This place is gonna be on my regular 'to go ' list!

Super fresh fish! This place puts an innovative touch on sushi. Friendly staff and decent pricing. A new and delightful experience for any sushi lover.
