Cafe Ole - San Antonio

We liked the view of the menu outside so decided to try it on our last day in San Antonio. The drink they brought out was very small. We just wanted to share some nachos for a light snack with our drinks. When they brought the nachos, both our faces only looked at the plate in unbelief. It literally looked like they put American cheese slices on chips. Something fast food restaurant?s Nachos everywhere would be better than that. I only give a 2-star, because our server was very nice. If I could, I would give him 5 and the food a -1

Service TERRIBLE! I'll never be my family again! As soon as we went and asked to sit on the deck, they told us: No, there are no servers out there until noon? but we saw the hostess go and talk to the server and ask if she wanted another table and she looked at us and shook her head?no? so they sat on us inside at the smallest table they could find that not even all our plates and cups would fit. They then moved us to a dirty dark table n the corner and gave us a new waiter who just started this week. We sat at our new table and observed how 5/6 waiters and waiters went n and out of the terrace that even served them that we were told there were no available. We ordered our drinks advertised on the menu to come back only for the waiter and tell us that they don't even have the drinks, I asked for a replacement and he must? if he can do that. our drinks don't come out til after the food came and we already started eating. They ordered Fajitas for ONE, they told us we could order food for just one person. We had to order two people. So we ordered Fajitas for 2 and they brought us Fajita meat for two, but rice for ONE. Then we argued about how the small tiny portion of rice was for two people. They didn't bring us plates to eat, server went missing, I had to go to the bar to get plates and spices, but he didn't want to give me either, told me I had to ask my server? Which one would be if I had my blessing in the last 15 minutes. Now my meat is cold. Did three servers ask for the manager? No one would get him out of there. After 30 minutes he came out, claiming to be the manager, and rested all the things that the uneducated server had told us. If you have the bill and the things that were promised to be taken away, had not yet been removed. Didn't bring us tortillas for dinner, as we asked and paid. Bad experience in a Mexican restaurant throughout my life

We had TOP service from Alajandro! The margaritas here are strong and I recommend getting the Patron upgrade. Great pricing. You are right in the middle of things on the Riverwalk.

I?m not sure what folks are expecting when they come here. I feel like the bad reviews are unwarranted. This food is exactly what I think of when someone says ?Tex Mex?. A little pricy, like every other restaurant on the river walk. No complaints about service. Glad we took the chance. If you get the fajitas, ask for extra tortillas. Fajitas serve 2 but only come with 3 tortillas.

It was ok. The food was from a 10 as being the best it was a 6. We were so hungry and the wait was about 50 minutes when other places were like 2 hour wait. They had a margarita that they said was the best and they had a 60oz size but we didn?t get that. We got the 20oz size you see in the picture and that was $18 for their best tequila Patron, according to the server. The server was good but very busy and we had to wait for refills. Overall it was ok and we may go back, but probably not during a busy weekend.
