410 Diner - San Antonio

Food is great! Owner is a rude, hostile, douche-bag! Don't even try to be friendly by handing out your extra, unused coupons...you'll get a nasty chewing-out by the owner ...the same person who paid to have those coupons distributed! Go figure. I can live without ever casting a shadow upon that door again.

Have frequented this restaurant for as long as it has been owened by Dean. Walked out this evening over principle. The young inexperienced manager told me the snapper was $1.00 m0re if I wanted it grilled instead of blackened which gives me heartburn. Any place else is the same price for either. They would not give in ....a 25 yr customer vs a young inexperienced manager in charge of the restaurant who cannot or will not make a $1.00 decision. They don't care about me and there are other restaurants to choose from.

Well...we liked the food but.... We came in with a coupon that was placed in a coupon book by the owner. We had our own, but a lady gave us one as she was walking in to be seated. We thought that was a nice gesture, but since we had our own we offered the 2nd one to a table of two women next to us. Just then, the owner came out of the office, and started yelling at us that we were taking money out of his pocket. We were shocked. All we did was hand someone else a coupon, that HE PLACED IN A COUPON BOOK. We have been loyal customers for 25 years, but we will never go back now.

For veggie lovers, 410 Diner has choice of 3 veggies and choice of 5 veggies on the menu, with a wide range of great vegetables to choose from. The rest of the menu is also great... including salmon and great corn bread. We love this place.

I used to work at 410, and it wasn't always easy. Things could get really hectic. However, the food is fantastic, and I often find myself disappointed when I try other places. I've read many reviews about the management, and I just want to clarify that I've never witnessed anyone being removed for being reasonable. The only individuals I've seen get kicked out were those who disrespected a staff member without any justification.
