The Smoking Goat - San Andreas

That was our first time we tried to smoke. the restaurant has a high deck, exposed brick and a modern cozy French bistro feeling. we started with the cauliflower appetizer, which was highly recommended. I had the skallops and although good, I don't think I would order it again. the skallops were delicious, but the pure was not my favorite. my man had the steak and loved it. we ended up with the cheesecake and it is deliciously perfect to finish the night. we will definitely go back.

Very disappointed, I thought it was a good restaurant for all “Awards” and reviews that I have seen on the internet. eating had no taste, the service was bad, drinks were terrible. this place felt like it was a restaurant opening.

They saw us at a bare height table right in front of the open kitchen and the staff was over and spoke within 2 feet of us throughout the time. we saw how the server brought us a cold otopus that sat there since our arrival for over 30 minutes. it was super busy and hectic, but this is expected on Saturday. overall it was decent, but I think these seats should be permanently brought to rest because I cannot imagine that someone really enjoys sitting there

Eating was fantastic, but there were only a few smaller things that threw me away. rose through the glass was out, and so I ordered cabernet instead of that was delicious, but served chilled. not sure why red are almost always at room temperature. no explanations. also the ente l’orange was fantastic, but the potato burr and the accompanying vegetables were underused. they need more time in many to really soften the kartoffels and enjoy getting a little softer. no cappuccinos available only coffee or espresso after dinner. they only miss a few last touches to make it truly unforgettable. otherwise it was really fantastic! the French wobbles soup was super tasty, but again a bit strange, only a hauch of cheese in the middle not covered the whole bowl.

Our food hadn’t come out for an hour and our server walked by 4 times without noticing or even looking in our direction. He walked by so quickly we couldn’t even ask him to check on it. Finally had to ask the bartender and our server came back to apologize profusely that our food seemed to have been sent to the wrong table. The manager then brought our food out 5-10 minutes later and it was undercooked. Scallops were cold in the middle and steak was medium rare at most. Raw seafood is concerning for a pregnant woman so I had to let the server know. He took the scallops from my plate and the kitchen cooked them for longer. Our food was clearly rushed out and undercooked due to the restaurant’s error. After all of that, the manager said “we are looking into what happened” and that was it. Our bill with nonalcoholic drinks, an appetizer, and the two most expensive entrées on the menu was full price and we weren’t even offered a complimentary dessert. Also very crowded in the restaurant and difficult to even walk through the aisles to the bathroom. Friends gave this place high recommendations so we were excited to finally try it. The food was good after the correction but very disappointed by their customer service.
