Maison Danel built my expectations quite high the pictures looked lovely. The space is done beautifully, the crockery lovely, and the attention to detail commendable. I was disappointed mainly with the food both amount and quality that came for the Le I’ve lived in the UK, had excellent tea services in a lot of places including Paris this place is by French owners. I expect tea sandwiches to be made with soft bread and fresh fillings, not things stuffed into bitesized, cut ends not even whole! of fairly dry croissants there were of these or put between chewy pieces of cold toasted bread this was the English For the sweet treats, there were a croissant, a pain au chocolat, and a piece of carrot cake again I felt from their daily viennoiserie collection, not the little fruit tarts, scones, or any piece of cake that I’d expect as part of a tea service. The macaron and madeleine were ok, not terribly The tea we ordered Darjeeling was a tea bag, again a disappointment for us who love and want loose leaf tea, at least in a tea service! All in all, our experience was underwhelming too little food, and definitely not exciting especially given how lovely the place and its advertisements looked
Had the most lovely high tea with my husband. Service was impeccable the owner himself served and explained everything. Every pastry and sandwich was perfect! The place itself, although located at the Tenderloin, is beautiful. Been recommending it to my friends
We went at the end of the day and ordered very pricey services , ea. It was the end of the day and they put some odds and ends on our plate without telling us and then proceeded to charge us for them. We had no idea that our 'assortment' was not supposed to include an apple turnover and a cheese croissant. It was an expensive mistake. Ended up spending on dismal plates. Very sneaky and unpleasant in retrospect. Sammie were dry too tea was good
I am thrilled that such a lovely concept would open in SF, everything was delicious, well presented and the service was impeccable. My friend and I shared a tea service meant for one. Three tea sandwiches, three pastry, and two sweets we had to cut in half ourselves and was barely a bite for each of us this included a pot of tea, I am no stranger to spending an entire paycheck on a good restaurant however I thought the cost was ridiculous, a charge to share a service meant for one. Really now
Pastries are amazing. warm atmosphere in family owned business. ordered from lunch menu, food was fresh and very good
