Anzu - San Andreas

In town for a conference, I was tired of rubber chicken, and went looking for a real dinner. Google showed this within walking distance of my hotel, so I went. The atmosphere is very calm, with ambient jazz playing softly. The staff was very friendly and efficient. They bring an assortment of breads as soon as you sit, and offer a full bar. I started with their tekka maki, six rolls to the order. Very nice tuna, quite fresh. For the main course, I had the filet, which is served with potatoes and a sushi garnish. It comes with your choice of sauces; I opted for the port wine reduction. I also got the asparagus with oyster sauce roasted garlic. I hate to be one of those reviewers who rave about a place, but in this case they got all thumbs up. The only thing I could complain about watch those plates, they are hot.

It took almost minutes to be served a drink. Cesar salad was fair. Poke roll was excellent. Chicken breast overcooked. Black cod was divine

Not enough service. Took an hour to order and get appetizers. Maybe give edamame to placate diners. Food incredible. Once we got it

The service person basically acted like he didn't really like what he was doing and was rushing to get out of talking to you. He even did not get the right order for the dessert and then arrived pretty late
