Pause - Samford Valley

What a surprise to find this establishment on Main street in Samford village. We arrived on a windy Saturday for lunch and decided to sit upstairs and were guided to a cosy room with three tables. Our food waiter was friendly and helpful and we soon had ordered and were served with a jug of iced water with lemon and fresh mint. A great start. The wine list is limited but has good options and our knowledgeable waiter brought an Italian red from Montepulciano which was perfect. For starters the octopus done two ways with artichoke was fabulous. For mains my wife tried the tagliatelle with crab which was delicious and I had the special of swordfish which was cooked to perfection. I could not go past the chocolate brownie which was on steroids and one I would choose again. The sticky date pudding was also well received. Our wine waiter tempted us with dessert wines which made for the perfect finish to what was an outstanding dining experience. Congratulations to the whole team and we will return!

Food quality seems to be average . Imported crab etc... I would be happier with less seafood and better quality in dishes . I think with the beautiful local fresh produce things could taste a lot better . I'm not sure on the chef it just didn't have that much flavour or pizazz as I would have hoped. I hope that the food can improve lovely location and good service.

Had an impromptu dinner here, it was great. The food was lovely and we got to sit in front of our own fire place. Prices were good and service was excellent. Staff were also amazing. Brilliant atmosphere, will be back.

Visited today Saturday for lunch. Proves that you don't need to visit the City to experience great food. Tried the Italian platter and the sweet lip bites which were both superb. No booking but got us a table in a relaxed courtyard setting, service is friendly and informative and the food top notch. Will be back - worth the drive

Had a late lunch here today. The food was excellent- I ordered the sweet lip bites and they were so delicious; crunchy, flavoursome, and not at all oily. The staff were very friendly and food came out fast. Will definitely be back :)
