Samosas were warm and good. Momos and veggie rolls were above average too. The woman who served us was graceful and kind too. Will come back again.
This was so much better than I had even hoped for! The rice, chicken tiki masala w/ tiki sauce, and the samosa were all excellent! I also enjoyed the momo sauce but it was a little spicier than I am used to. Small bites of yummy goodness followed by lots of ice water! I'm working on rebuilding my spice tolerance but this was perfect for my husband. Service was great, food was excellent, and it was well worth the cost.
Inconsistency thy name is Zimbu. This score was difficult. If you love curry you're probably going to eat here anyway since it's so rare to have curry in a food court, and if you don't know what you want, I don't know if this should your introduction to Indian curry. I eat here reasonably often, pretty much every time I come to City Creek, and no two visits have been the same. Ranging from my initial experience here which was quite excellent, to a few other visits whichalmost made me stop coming. But I love curry, so I keep coming back, hoping that this time it will be good again. Am I involved in an unhealthy relationship? I might need to rethink my life choices. I always order Tikka Chicken withTikka Masala and Roasted Chicken with Coconut Curry. Between the two, the Tikka Masala has been a little more consistent. Generally a light tomato paste based curry. To my taste, I appreciate that Zimbu's offering has never dropped toodeeply into the tomato paste as some recipes do. Today's version actually tasted quite good, but for some reason the chicken was cut into 1 thick slices of chicken breast and not fully warmed through. Very strange. The roasted chickenthis time was much better than it has been, still a bit thick in the cut, but reasonable, and today it wasn't severely overcooked. The coconut curry however was middle of the road for Zimbu's track record. Tasting more like a sour creamsauce than a coconut curry, but not diving to the depths of crazy that they have served me in the past. Truth is that 3 stars is generous for what I've been served here before, but I can hope for better things in the future right? Hope israrely a personality trait of my reviews, but today was... OK. And I know I will eat here again because I love curry, so how could give less than 3 stars?
Wonderful Indian food. I tried all three chicken entrees and they were so yummy. The spicy chicken I just did a small sample and I wish I would have got more. I got my Indian spices euphoria. I missed that from the Indian ladies bringing home made food to work. I wish we had this place at the Oregon coast.
I was excited for food court Indian food, but this was a major letdown. The portion of noodles I got was laughably small, and cold. The chicken was dry and lukewarm, and again the portion was small with only 3-4 chunks in each serving. The curry flavor was the saving grace as it was pretty solid, but not enough to feel good about dropping 11 bucks on a disappointing meal. Might be better if you go during a more peak time?
