Restaurante Mendebal on C.de Lleida is a fantastic Spanish restaurant and bar thats in a fantastic area of Salou and was a very good restaurant and bar to have a couple of beers on a roasting hot day. This superb restaurant and bar has a very traditional Spanish interior with nice decor and furnishings and excellent features and excellent seating areas both inside and on it's superb outside seating area. We visited here early in the afternoon on a roasting hot day and sat outside where we had a few bottles of Spanish beer'the beer was served iced cold and where really well priced. This is a very good Spanish restaurant and bar thats well worth visiting if you're ever in this area of Salou.(This is my first review of Restaurante Mendebal). Opening Hours. Fuimos a comer unos amigos en nuestra estancia de vacaciones en Salou. Pedimos el menú especial (ojo, son 20 y algo SIN IVA aunque esta indicado es importante recalcarlo ya que el precio total ronda los 25€. Pedimos el primero que estaban aceptables (parrillada de verdura, ensalada… no obstante estuvimos una hora esperando. De hecho s equivocaron y nos trajeron primero el arroz negro cuando ni siquiera nos habían servido el primero. De Segundo una paella marinera y un arroz negro. La primera estaba pasadísima, la típica paella de guiris con colorante. Cualquiera que se haya comido una buena paella sabe que una paella no necesita colorante si los ingredientes y la elaboración ha sido la correcta. El arroz negro quemado, olía a chamuscado. Si el menú valiera 12€ lo entendería pero por 25€ esto era inaceptable. En resumen. No comimos el segundo, que por cierto tardaron otra hora en traer. La realidad es que toda la sala donde estábamos se estaba quejando del servicio, algo que debería hacer reflexionar a los propietarios del restaurante. En nuestro caso decidimos quejarnos porque no nos parecía Justo dejarnos semejante dineral sin haber comido nada. Tras una discusión decidieron rebajar el precio del menú. No obstante desde aquí quiero darles un consejo: si unos clientes muestran su disgusto y el restaurante mismo decide hacer un gesto bonito evitaría estas reseñas y el cliente se iría algo más satisfecho. We went to eat some friends on our holiday stay in Salou. We ask for the special menu (be careful, they are 20 and something WITHOUT VAT although it is indicated it is important to emphasize it since the total price is around € 25. We ordered the first which were acceptable (grilled vegetables, salad ... however we waited an hour. In fact they were wrong and they brought us the black rice first when they had not even served us the first one. Second, a seafood paella and black rice. The first one was extremely past, the typical tourist paella with food coloring. Anyone who has eaten a good paella knows that a paella does not need coloring if the ingredients and preparation have been correct. The burnt black rice smelled scorched. If the menu was worth € 12 I would understand it but for € 25 this was unacceptable. In summary. We did not eat the second, which by the way took another hour to bring. The reality is that the entire room we were in was complaining about the service, something that should make the owners of the restaurant reflect. In our case we decided to complain because it did not seem fair to leave us such a fortune without having eaten anything. After a discussion they decided to lower the price of the menu. However, from here I want to give you some advice: if some customers show their displeasure and the restaurant itself decides to make a nice gesture, it would avoid these reviews and the customer would leave somewhat more satisfied.

Went to look for a Spanish workers bar and found it . No English ,certainly no english younger end who r hell bent on giving us bad name ,not that we need any help. Polite speaking spanish who respect and love children . No f words every second , just good cold beer , excellent tapas , great conversation with nice people , WELL DONE THE MENDEBAL !
