Los Grullenses - Salinas

I always look for a good Mexican restaurant and being new to the Salinas area, I kept getting poor recommendations from people that thought Chipotle was good and considered 'Mexican ' food. A buddy recommended this place and I have been going there for breakfast and dinner. Tacos are small but packed with amazing flavors. Salsas were good (tasted homemade) and the torta de carne asada was delectable! Docked a point for the size of the tacos though.

We did a rolling reset at the Pilot across the street. Went and had dinner the first night. Very tasty!! Decided to go back the second day and it didn’t disappoint! Pretty quick! Very good pollo tacos!! Yummy!!!

Ordered the Nachos. Presentation and rate of creation were on par, or as expected. Pretty disappointed with the “liquid cheese product goo” they topped the Nachos with. Usually this “auténtico” places put a little more attention to detail into the food, then this.

Amazing tacos. This is one of those little shops that cares way more about the quality of the food over how Instagram worthy their decor is and that 's what makes it so good. Staff is friendly, speak English and Spanish so if you don 't speak the language you can still order, don 't worry. They even have the bottled coke from Mexico (the drink, calm down) which is way better than the American recipe. It gets busy here but they turn out the orders within minutes so if you see a line, don 't move on, you 'll get your food pretty quick regardless. Some could argue that the environment isn 't very 'high end ' and the eating area justifies 4 stars but this place knows what it is, and what it isn 't. They 're there to make amazing food, plain and simple, and for that I give 5 stars.

We got Quesadilla, Burrito and a side of beans and rice! This was the best Mexican food I have had thus far! Sauces were delicious and the meat was very flavourful !! Loved each and every bite! Can’t wait to visit again
