Within 5 to 10 minutes, our Maine Style Lobster Rolls came out, and they looked amazing. They tasted even better, brimming with generous pieces of lobster. The rolls were toasty and perfectly prepared. The quality of the roll truly adds to the experience. For my two sides, I chose the Onion Rings and the Parmesan Risotto Cake. The onion rings were more like onion straws, but they were still tasty. The Parmesan Risotto Cake, however, was the star of the sides—it was so flavorful and rich. This side dish is a must-try; you won’t regret it. Overall, Turner's was fantastic, and if you find yourself in Salem, it’s a place you definitely need to check out. Just a heads up: be sure to plan ahead and make a reservation, so you can avoid the long wait in the cold. They do turnover tables fairly quickly though!
The food at the restaurant was overcooked, and my order arrived missing appetizers, with the entree being incorrect as well. While my waiter was very pleasant, the food runner from the kitchen was quite rude. When I informed her that my entree was wrong, I received overpriced, overcooked clam whole bellies that were served with squash instead of the coleslaw I had requested. To my surprise, she returned to my table and slammed down the coleslaw with a curt "you're welcome." I was taken aback by such terrible treatment of a customer. Concerned about how the coleslaw had been handled, I chose not to eat it. The manager, however, was very apologetic and offered us a complimentary dessert. Unfortunately, that food runner/waitress clearly does not belong in a service role. Overall, it was not worth the wait or the lack of courtesy.
This is definitely a must-visit place! The food was outstanding; the clam chowder was spot on, and the staff were friendly and efficient. I would definitely return!
I recently went to Turner 's with my two sisters. We were excited to dine here because of the reviews. As soon as we entered the restaurant that excitement decreased. We were met by the host who was very rude and short with us and told us to come back in 30-45 mins. As we waited outside we saw several parties some smaller and larger than ours (none that looked like us) get seated quickly. We return back to the restaurant about 10 minutes later and the host was still rude but quickly sat us. Our server was DeeDee who seemed pleasant until my sister ordered the Lobster Pie and promptly told my sister the price in such a condescending tone; as if my sister couldn 't afford it or she couldn 't read (the price was on the menu). Due to our treatment from the beginning to the end, we asked to speak with the manager. An older gentleman came to our table and described himself as the manager Richie 's boss but wouldn 't give us his name. We shared our experience with him and it was clear he did not care. I would NEVER recommend this restaurant to anyone, let alone a person of color. I haven 't experienced this type of discrimination in a really long time and that totally took away from the food and frankly ruined our evening.
Fantastic, fresh seafood and upstanding service. Their crab cakes were excellent and our family really enjoyed our meal. After being turned down from every restaurant on halloween weekend, Turners welcomed us in. Thank you!!
