Everyone really enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. The beers were interesting too. Reasonable price for what we had. Would definitely go there again.
We were excited about going and have a different cuisine. Everything went wrong. Had to wait 20 minutes to order a drink. Then after 10 minutes the waitress told us there was no bartender we could not get drinks. We ordred beers instead, 15 minutes later no beer no one could tap the kegs. Wrong food delivered to the table. Once our meals arrived food was fair. The waitress was poor come to find out it was her very first day. She was by herself. Where was the owner? How could you set her up for failure. Not happy
My mothers' day dinner here was perfect in every way! There were plenty of vegan options for the two of us that were vegetarian I had a hearty lentil stew and my husband had the falafel plate. My omnivore son ordered a lamb shank smothered in apricot and fig sauce, with pearled couscous on the side. All of the dishes were five star delicious and we only wished we had saved room for the desserts that our kind and attentive waitress described for us. The decor and Moroccan music playing softly gave us a pleasant break from the bustle of downtown Salem. We highly recommend this place and will definitely be going back!
Eating was delicious, the server was attentive and fun. we have a few apps and they were absolutely amazing, fresh, well seasoned. very recommended the cigars . near the city, but not crowded.
Yikes! the evening meal began with a lens soup, which was so dazzling salty that I almost spit out my first spoon. I should've just sent it back, but I thought I'd make it hard, provided the following courses would be better. unfortunately not. the basilic was at least warm and crispy at the outer sharing of the hen inside felt almost frozen. it was also very small. the quality given, maybe that was a good thing! that said it seemed absolutely not worth $16. the Moroccan tagine managed to be both bland and too salty at once. (the dried plants, figs and apricots were almost unusable salty and sour, while the lamb was darkened. the taste overall was unpleasant. in general I love Moroccan food. the restaurant was clean, and the waitress was beautiful and attentive. I don't care that you don't come to the least when it's excellent. in this situation a good service could not make up for extremely disappointing food.
