I ordered lamb shawarma and loved my meal. The restaurant sitting area is above the grocery section and feels cozy. Staff is very helpful and attentive.
Tony the owner is fantastic! The service is wonderful. Everything on the menu is homemade. The food is spectacular from portion size, plating, smell and taste. I will definitely be eating there again. Samples of the baklava were so good I had to buy some! Also while waiting for my order to be made Tony had great conversation and tastes of all sorts of delectable items.
My mother and I were in the area for a doctor's appointment and decided to try something new for lunch. After looking around on Google maps, we stumbled upon Alsham and decided to give it a try. The owner was very polite and welcoming as we entered the restaurant. Although it took a little longer than expected for our food to arrive, it was well worth the wait. We both ordered the lamb shawarma combo plate, which was delicious and reasonably priced. The lamb was perfectly seasoned and had a nice texture. The rice was saffron-seasoned and paired well with the lamb and pita bread. I also enjoyed the stuffed grape leaves, although they were quite tangy. The spinach puff was a pleasant surprise with a hint of lemon and chopped walnuts. As a sweet lover, I couldn't resist trying the house-made Baklava, which was absolutely amazing and brought me close to tears. We ended up getting some to go and will definitely be returning as repeat customers in the future.
Great food!!! So delicious! Their baklava is to die for!!! Their stuffed grape leaves were delicious. Haven't had a menu item I didn't find delicious! Fresh made, never frozen, they put real heart into their food
I stumbled upon Alsham Restaurant by chance and was pleasantly surprised. I noticed they had a market below, but was unaware that they not only have a charming mom and pop convenience store downstairs, but also a cozy restaurant upstairs serving freshly made delicious Mediterranean cuisine! I tried the Lamb Shwarma and it was some of the best I've ever had. The lamb was perfectly cooked and came with fantastic fries that were clearly made from scratch, a delightful change from the usual thawed options. Our server Tony, who also happened to be the owner, was exceptional. He recommended dishes, gave us a tour of the shop, and even took a photo of me and my companion. After our meal, he offered us a sample of their balaclava dessert, which was so good that I might have to return just for that! Overall, it was a fantastic dining experience that I would recommend to everyone in Salem.
