The Criterion - Sale

I stopped by for lunch, and it was a fantastic decision! We had the curry and porterhouse steak. The steak was cooked to perfection and incredibly tender. The wagyu shin in the curry melted in my mouth, and both the curry and rice were delicious. They serve lunch until 2:30 p.m., making it a great spot to grab a bite and enjoy a drink.

This restaurant is a lovely spot with a wonderful atmosphere, attentive staff, and delicious food. I tried the espresso martini and the eggplant dish, and I was pleasantly surprised by how much more elaborate and satisfying the eggplant was than I anticipated. Unlike many places that simply deep fry a vegetable and leave it at that, the quality and creativity of the dish really stood out. I would definitely return to this place!

I stayed at the property for a few months, and while the room was fantastic and beautifully located in front of the house, my experience at the restaurant was disappointing. I ordered a steak that tasted stale, was not cooked to my preference, and was quite tough. Additionally, the staff member who took our orders was rude and suggested that we were confusing the kitchen. As COVID is behind us, relying on QR code ordering does not equate to good customer service. This approach may cater to younger customers who don’t mind sharing their information and have lower expectations, like those at a fast food chain. Given the prices, I expected much better service and quality food. Unfortunately, my experience fell short of our expectations, and I won’t be dining at the hotel again after being let down twice.

We went to this hotel for dinner. it was probably the most appreciated and inconspicuous pub meal ever. children chicken bugs were burned and tasted. 5 years old later say it tastes yuk . child chips were good. my fish was dry and tasteless. my meal was completed with a buck chip and the salat was only salat green with a tiny amount of tasteless dressing. this meal costs $28. service was not available, with tellers on our table for at least 25 minutes, while the staff went past and ignored it. to distribute almost $100 is a sweat. I would never recommend going there.

Extremely impressed with this beautiful pub. Incredible value for a family of four. All staff were lovely and helpful, both on the phone and in person. We had a delicious family meal at the restaurant. Stylish, spotlessly clean room with very comfortable beds. A perfect, hassle-free way to break our trip to coastal NSW.
