This popular restaurant near the Plaza Mayor serves good cheap tapas but also very good parilladas. We stopped in for a light lunch/snack of tapas and after we saw them cooking the meat on the grill we decided to have dinner there. We had a special parillada a generous amount of chorizo, morcilla, sausage, lamb chops, pork steak, beef steak with chips. It was very tasty and the quite reasonably priced too.
If you want to eat cold microwaved food, this is the place for you. Everything we had (6 plates in total) was disgusting. When we wanted to eat the safest thing on the plate (the salad), we discovered a living insect on it and we were also blessed with a dead one in the vinager. The service was also awful. I wouldn 't recommend this 'restaurant ' to my worst enemies.
My Paella was cold inside. Probably was from yesterday (or god knows from when) and then microwaved. The 2nd dish was impossible to eat as well: the french fries were still raw, the meat was pure chewing gum and the lettuce wasn't well washed. The vinegar container had a bug inside of it and the olive oil was empty. The service was also very disappointing. I'll never visit this place again.
The restaurant i went to was called El Patio Chico Los Bandos. I hope it's the same one I'm reviewing! We went to this restaurant to try some local dishes. The ambiance was a little noisy and there were lots of papers strewn all over the floor. But services were prompt. I can't recall the pricing but it was affordable for students (i was a student then). We ordered the Paella and Patatas Bravas. I enjoyed the food there.
