The ambiance of the restaurant overall is so cozy...really intimate and warm : Our waitress (her name escapes me, soft spoken girl with big glasses! was super attentive and a true gem. <br/ <br/ A really great little restaurant that I would absolutely recommend. Definitely make a reservation though, and go early they book a lot of events and the service can run a little slow! And they fill up quick!<br/ <br/ Only negative: The owner is a little abrasive though...easily flustered and borderline unprofessionally blunt and LOUD! (Was right by our table when she was loudly talking to our waitress about our allergy needs...I found that highly unprofessional
Amazing chocolate fondue.. Relaxing atmosphere, service was a little slow, but the wait was definitely worth it!
Fondue is the way to my heart and this spot didn’t let me down. Located right on the water so you have a fantastic romantic view. You will find Suzanne and her husband who run and own the place. They have been around for over 27 years serving you nothing but delicious meats and cheeses. We decided to go as a group of 3 at 7:30 pm on a Friday, it wasn’t to busy but since Suzanne is the only one who works there it does take some time. We started off with a bottle of wine which was great and than learned a bit about the menu. I decided to go with the cheese fondue with the beef which came with a salad and chocolate fondue at the end. With our cheese we decided to get some grison to dip with the cheese and it was fantastic never thought about doing it like that before but adding it to my fondue nights at home. The only thing I wasn’t a fan of was the dipping sauce they tasted like sour cream and I’m used to a more mayo and garlic taste like they have at alpenhause. We did not get to do the chocolate at the end as we had to go but I loved the food and would recommend it if you’re in the neighbourhood.
All to say that the service is almost frightening, but the food is good. It 's the Dick 's Last Resort of the West Island. (Google it)
We have been here several times over several years but last night was probably our last. We drove 2.5 hours and everything went wrong. The Valet parking is no longer available. There is no longer any live music during dinner. Our reserved table was given away. Lots of excuses but it got worse. We have had some problems in the past with language and late meals but serving a French table first that came in 20 minutes after us was so blatant of the owner Suzanne. Only one staff member and the owner trying to prepare food, work the bar and cash and trying to serve the entire restaurant is a recipe for failure. Always out of certain drinks that are on your menu. Plates were late on every part of the meal. More excuses about staff not showing up or no one wants to work. Almost four hours to have or meal and we had to get up a few times to expedite parts of our meal. Tha ambiance is gone without any music. The food is pretty good but the services have gone in the toilet. Your charging higher prices, hire some more staff and pay them well to stay with you. Comping a drink or two on many occasions does not replace poor service. One staff member should not be doing the work of four people. She worked her tail off but this is a management problem. I doubt we will ever be back under this management. Great concept.
