Restaurant la Chaumiere

We went to Chaumiere based on a local's recommendation and we were extremely impressed.

This is the worst restaurant I have ever been to! The decor is outdated, the owner/waitress is rude and disrespectful. The other waitress seemed lost and confused. My son was not impressed.

After a great afternoon of hanging out by the lake and boating a few of us wanted to stop for a meal before heading home.

We had just biked 20km from Ste-Adele to Ste-Agathe and were looking for a nice place for lunch. The menu was quite inviting so we decided to have lunch here. We started with the escargots and the wild mushroom cassolette. Both were very tasty, but the mushrooms were divine! My husband had the lamb chops and I had the filet mignon slices served with mushrooms and peppers. I thought the beef was very good and my husbands lamb chops were quite good as well.My husband had the chocolate mousse cake for dessert and I had a simple ice cream and fresh strawberry parfait. It was simple but a nice way to end a very good meal.

I took my family there, 6 adults and 5 children, aged 8 years to 9 months. We were treated fabulously. The couple who own the restaurant were originally from Switzerland. He is the chef and she runs the front. They also own a B&B nearby. The staff was very friendly and efficient. They made us feel very comfortable and went out of their way to accommodate the children. The food was excellent. It felt like big city restaurant in Europe. The menu was creative and well prepared. Thank you for a great evening that my family with cherish forever.
