There is good food to be had but the menu is limited; half a dozen starters, and a handful of meat and handful of fish dishes. Vegetarian main dish did not seem to be an option, though no doubt this could be asked for. The foie gras was excellent and the beef fillet also good, but these are expensive, and the fish, such as the cod or tuna was less spectacular. The deserts sound and look good, but looks can be deceptive. At about 50 euros for three courses one should expect more. The wine is overpriced. A glass is 9 euros, and most bottles are around the 40-45 euro mark. The house wine 'was out of stock' and the staff recommended higher price bottles. Service can be variable, depending on the number of staff and numbers dining. This restaurant needs to work out the type of clientele it is catering for and re-work its identity. In the 10 days we stayed there the chef never came out once to talk to the guests. That probably says a lot about how confident they are of the food they prepare and serve. For those staying for more than about three days, the same menu becomes tedious and uninspiring, and then painful. The 'marmite', or chef's dish of the day was, for five days running, a curry of one sort or another (such as veal curry, or chicken with saffron, and rice) but how that mixes with supposedly delicate wine or a palate that may include a finer starter and desert I am unsure?
Unfortunately we were disappointed by the breakfast and decided not to try the restaurant for dinner. The buffet is so basic with extras being charged!!! The egg dish was really not appetizing. It is also understaffed so it takes a long time to have a waitress attention.
We used to go this restaurant for years to celebrate specailocaions. This Year there was a completely new staff and , unfortunately, a new cook. The food was toatally overcooked with no taste and displayed very poor. The staff was unwilling to communicate in another langauage than english (remember , this is the hotel restaurant of a US Chain) and no enlish menus were available, no translation given. The offered child menu was "worse than McDonalds (my son)". Howewer that price asked for this "experience" was very high, a clear ripoff. A pity because the setting of the tables and the athmosphere of the hotel is very nice
The restaurant les pins parasols had earlier a good call for fine eating. over the years the mockers have disappeared between the cures, like the cheese car. there are good eating to have, but the menu is limited; half a dozen, and a handful of meat and handful of fish dishes. vegetarian main dish seemed to be no option, although this could undoubtedly be asked. the foie grass was excellent and the bark fillet was also good, but these are expensive, and the fish, like the cod or thunfish, was less spectacular. the gloomy sound and look good, but that can look foolish. for about euro for three courses one should expect more. the wee is too expensive. a glass is euro, and most of the bottles are around the euro brand. the house wine was sold out and the staff recommended higher price bottles. the service can be variable, depending on the number of employees and numbers. this restaurant must rework the type of clientele for which it is catering and its identity. in the days where we were there, the cook never came out to talk to the guests. that probably says a lot about how confident they are of the food they prepare and serve. for those who stay more than three days, the same menu will be laborious and inspiring, and then painful. the marmite', or cooked meal of the day was, five days long, a curry of one kind or another (such as calf meat, or huh with saffron, and rice) but how to mix with supposedly tender wein or a galm that a finer starter and gloomy that I am uncertain?
Unfortunately we were disappointed by the breakfast and decided not to taste the restaurant for dinner. the buffet is so easy that extras are calculated! the egg shell was really not appetizing. it is also understaffed, so it takes a long time to have a...waitress alertness.
