Although initially a little overwhelmed by our party of eleven including three small children, we were served very good food at reasonable prices (compared to a comparable restaurant in the UK).
We'd spent a week self catering in Normandy, and for the last night we decided to book a meal and eat out. It was fairly rural where we were staying but stumbled across this place, and we're so glad we did!The food was fantastic, and the owner was extremely accomodating. If you are in the area it is definitely worth a visit.
We actually found this place while waiting for the nearby Chateau de Vendeuvre to open as it didn't open until 2pm. So, we drove to nearby Saint-Pierre-sur-Dives and drove around looking for something that was open at this time (we actually initially drove by it, and came back to check it out). We came across this delightful little restaurant. We sat near a window that overlooked the river Dives. We ordered the Plat du Jour (14 Euro) and we enjoyed every aspect of it. We found the service to be friendly, the cost to be more than reasonable, and the food to be delicious. Definitely worth a stop if you are staying or driving through Saint-Pierre-sur-Dives.
Found this little gem by chance as everywhere else was shut (out of season) was wary as looked like my great aunts front room but thats where the comparison finished. Fantastic food and plenty of it. If you like cheese they have a great trolley full of it! We both took a 21 euro menu which gave us 4 courses of sublime tasting food. If they doubled their price you still couldn't complain. Can't recommend this place enough.
