At that time, I said that I thought that his Sunday take away Paella or Couscous would probably be the best option, and good value. And I was right!This time we took our own pans to collect a Couscous. This is what you need to do; they do not supply containers themselves.Our glass casserole dish was filled with a generous portion of the couscous grain, topped with two merguez sausages. Then our pot was filled with delicious chunks of the usual vegetables, predominantly carrot and courgette, two large chunks of chicken and three large chunks of lamb. Once back home, a couple of minutes in the microwave for the grain and a few minutes on the hob to bring the rest back to full heat, and we had a delicious and very filling meal.At 9€ a portion, we shall certainly do this again.

This is a funny little place on the edge of the square in St Pierre. It is basically a Pizzeria that does takeaway, although it also has seating for about 30 people inside. The very smiley and polite owner/chef is, I would guess, of Moroccan descent.In addition to pizzas, on alternate Sundays he serves either Paella or Couscous. The deal is 9€ per person to take away or 14€ per person to eat in, including a dessert.The Sunday that we tried was a paella day. We had sussed the place out earlier in the week and were told that he served food from noon and he suggested we arrive at 12.30 to eat in. That is what we did. However, he was clearly not ready to serve anyone at that time, and we were the only people in the restaurant! Shortly after, however, several people arrived with their own pans to collect takeaways, so he clearly does have a following. And by the time that we finished there was actually one other table occupied.The paella, when it came, was massive. The rice was nicely cooked and a good texture but could, we thought, have had more flavour. I have to say though that, unlike your typical Spanish paella for 2 that has maybe 4 prawns, a few mussels and clams, a few squid rings and a couple of small pieces of pork and chicken, this had lots more content. There must have been a dozen large, and very tasty, prawns, several dozen mussels, strips of octopus, some salami slices and two large pieces each of chicken and of pork. The dessert was, unfortunately, just crème caramel.All in all, to be fair, the food was not bad but there is little atmosphere in an empty restaurant. We may try again, for a Couscous but, this time, I think that we will follow the lead of the locals and collect it as a takeaway which, I think is probably better value than eating in.

Once back home, a few minutes to the microwave for the grain and a few minutes on the cooking plate to bring the rest to full heat, and we had a delicious and very hearty meal. a 9 € per serving, we will certainly still do this.

And when we were done, there was actually another busy table. The paella, when she arrived, was huge. rice was well cooked and a good texture but, in our opinion, could have more flavor. I must say, however, that, unlike your typical Spanish paella for 2 which may contain 4 shrimps, some mussels and clams, some squid pucks and some small pieces of pork and chicken, it had much more content. There were supposed to be a dozen large, very tasty shrimps, dozens of mussels, octopus lanterns, salami slices and two large pieces of chicken and pork. dessert was unfortunately only caramel cream. Overall, to be honest, food was not bad but there is little atmosphere in an empty restaurant. we can try again, for a couscous but, this time, I think we will follow the example of the premises and recover it to take away, which, I think, is probably more interesting than eating on the spot.
