Great local spot. Perfect location for a late night bite and the value is pretty great. Their Macho Nachos are no joke. That's enough food for 2-3 hungry...
My husband and I used to come to Tampa once a week and we would always go to this place. The crushed jerker chicken was always our favorite, the cheese dip...
Tuesday around 1PM, 2 adults. First time visit. We parked around the corner. $1 in the parking meter was sufficient. We ordered a chicken quesadilla, steak burrito and two $2 tacos with 2 fountain drinks. Refills do come with fountain drinks although I did not see a sign stating so The food was good and it was made fresh to order. I thought the topping selection was a bit limited. No lettuce for tacos. No black olives for burrito. Staff was friendly. Restaurant was clean. A couple tables are on the sidewalk out front but one was being used by customers from the neighboring pizza joint. The sidewalk slopes towards the street so it might feel a little wierd if you are sitting back to the street. (Although that might be the better place to stay if you are a woman with a purse, so you don't get robbed by pedestrians as you eat The salsa was good and they gave us a few chips with our meal. You might want to put salt on them though. And lastly, they have plastic straws which is wonderful as many places are going to paper ones which I can't stand Overall the experience was good. I'd recommend it to try if you haven't before
Amazing burritos, salad bowls, quesadillas and tacos are found here at Burrito Boarder! Made to order with freshly prepared ingredients, you can choose what to include in your entree, such as steak, chicken, pork or go vegetarian. You then add the extra stuff, some like guacamole have extra charges. Mine was a steak quesadilla with guacamole, grilled onions and peppers, jalapeños, and rice. It was perfectly spicy hot for me but my wife thought it was more heat than she could handle. For my youngest, he thought the seasoning was a bit heavy. So be mindful if your kid is like mine and doesn't care for heavily seasoned foods. The customer service you'll receive depends on the person serving you. Some are friendlier and more personable than others, but you ain't at Disney World, ok? The restaurant is conveniently located near Tropicana Field in a building with a mural depicting a big gray dog with red eyes wearing a muscle shirt, burrito in hand. There are TVs so you can catch the game while eating. Mexican soft drinks and beers are available for purchase, too. 5 stars would have been given, however the one restroom was filled with standing water. Even though we were forewarned, it was still a bit concerning. We were grateful to have the ability to use the restroom, though. Overall a 4 star experience for a hungry crew of 7 looking for an affordable meal. We would definitely go back.
