I enjoyed a cold beer and great food at very good value. Cosey traditional English pub in the middle of a Russian city. If I travel through Saint Petersburg again I would definitely return.
Normally I avoid English themed pubs when abroad but myself and my friend needed to have a sit down and a beer after a bit of walking. Have to say I really enjoyed it, more than expected, very good, really nice, traditional feel to it, nice atmosphere, excellent choice of beers, though no Russian beers, the couple running it are really nice, we got talking to them and it was soon clear to see they are keen to have a nice, friendly local atmosphere, in fact many in there were locals, your sort of Cheers pub in Russia. They do show sports but it is not aimed at that sort of thing, we were intending to go back the next day, our last before leaving but ran out of time, shame as we wanted to see the owners again and say thanks for making us feel at home. Do try and if you are like me put off by English themed pubs abroad don't be, do try it.
The neon sign outside makes it look very tacky. However, once you enter it is very cosy and relatively British. A couple of things make it 'non-British '. Firstly, you order your drinks and food at the table which is very uncommon in England where the usual practice is to do it at the bar. Secondly, as per usual in these 'British pubs abroad ', there are random brewery posters everywhere which is slightly odd. However, despite these rather minor flaws, the Bristol Pub is reasonably priced and is definitely the best 'British Pub ' in St. Petersburg in terms of atmosphere and aesthetics.
Not Irish for sure but small pub with good beer and food. Good for a football or hockey match. Price is average and whisky was good as well. What else do you need from pub?
A nice bar to go with friends for some pint beer and burger etc., there are many available types of beer, they can watch football or listen to music as they want. not so sure about English-speaking staff and looks like a little Russian language will help, but they can always use their body language to say what to order and if they behave nicely, they will not have any problems.
