Les Viviers Charentais

As previously reviewed, you chose your seafood and then find a table in the back. The view of the water is gorgeous! The seafood is extremely fresh and very tasty. As expected, you have to peel and eat. Expect to “get messy “. It also a nice opportunity to try one, or two, different types of seafood. We liked some better than others. We were a little surprised that the seafood is cold. So is the butter. The bread is a little hard. The Rose wine is very good. The Paella comes in a warm crock, and it’s good. We put out butter inside the crock to soften it. We had 5 different hard shell, Paella, a bottle of sparkling water, bread and 2 glasses of Rose wine for 81 euro.

Excellent seafood kiosk, you can eat in or takeaway . We chose to takeaway as just outside our campsite. We have used this many times and have always been happy with the quality and price. They have a lovely terrace area out the back which gives a very pleasant eating place. Just specialises in fruit de mer and shellfish

We visit the altantic coast every year, the day of our departure at the end of the holidays is not complete without a visit to Les cViviers Charentais. this is the fruit de mer paradise . It is not realy a restaurant, more a food stall with the possibility to eat sur place. Super fresh seafood served with a bread, wine, mayonnaise and a smile. You pick your choise of seafood from the counter, pick a table in or outside and your selection is served on a massive boat filled with ice. We will be back!

Reception execrable from the person responsible during the taking of the order. When we asked if there was a baby changing table we received a meditating look at the person in charge. Very expensive seafood compared to the price of the region. no dessert spoon, no wine glasses (when there is a list of wines that are not cheap table wines)! If you eat on-site, a service tax is added, scandalous when you have no table service, forced to go for either salt, glasses, water. a pity that the instigating and unkind service has ruined the experience because the frame is pleasant.

Very good products of the sea but the addition quickly climbs compared to other restaurants on the coast. Choosing on site is a plus but a less because we do not always value the price per kilo, which does not remove the freshness of the products.
