If someone only needs to eat something hearty, fresh and simple, this is the place to go. Do not expect a surprise, simple classics are served...in this lively little place. There are also some live music often. It can be pretty loud, but I didn't mind. I went specifically to this place to have a nice simple lunch with some noise. Good service.
Le Picolo théâtre-café could easily be overlooked between two plate stores, as one of many places to eat and drink in the flea market area Sain-Ouen. But this place is not only over, but it is one of a kind: an excellent restaurant and performance art space. I visited Le Picolo several times and was always convinced to leave the place in a blessed state of mind. Recently, I and my girlfriend decided to eat again between lunch and dinner. We were so excited that we stayed two hours until we found nothing more to beautify the exquisite culinary sequence. Starters, main course, cheese plate, dessert, accompanied by a beautiful Chardonnay, were infused with a homemade Rhum Shot with citrus fruits. Our addition to extending our stay in a logical way was a homemade, no less tasty vin chaude. Le Picolo has an outdoor terrace and offers tables on the opposite side of the street, which is a good opportunity to observe the numerous passers-byes while eating, drinking, speaking. Guests at Le Picolo are a pleasant, unique blend of regular guests, friends, families, tourists, artists, musicians – personalities of all ages, adding a great inviting aspect to the lively market atmosphere of Saint-Ouen. The venue is known for regular, genre-crossing theatre and music events, from singer/songwriter to experimental performances. This comfortable hangout is definitely worth a visit, or many.
We had a salad and some French fries (which were of course great), but I can't say this is a must go or Adobe the best food I had in Paris. I thought the atmosphere was nice, but overall a bit too pricy for... what you get.
On a beautiful day; sitting on the terrace of this brasserie, is as close to Nirvana as you could get. Join the treasure hunt before you stop resting your feet. If you don't think it can be better, It does when... another known song is sung by living artists. I'm always tempted by the different dishes that pass, but I'm usually happy with my beer and looking at the parade of my pasture chair.
