Le Lyon - Saint-Nectaire

Called in hoping for a quick drink at the bar before eating. Told NO by an oriental looking women in a very sharp, non customer friendly way. Avoid. Town full of many friendly restaurant/bars. Finally ate in pizza/regional place near river about 100m up the hill

We stopped here for lunch and ate from the 'Menu du Jour' . The restaurant has both indoor and outdoor seating. The indoor area was already full so we sat outside with the baby in a pushchair. The service was friendly and quick. There was an a la carte menu and a menu du jour which was 12.50 Euros for 3 courses - an option of 2 courses also available. This cost did not include drinks. Each course had a choice of two dishes, both of which were local fare and both of which were fantastic value for money. The quiche St, Nectaire was delicious and arrived with an accompanying green salad. The main course of chicken in an Auvergne sauce was superb - large portions and tasted fantastic. The ice cream for dessert was a decadent end to a lovely meal . We enjoyed this meal so much that we decided to eat there again later in the week - unfortunately it does not seem to be open in the evenings, so if you want to sample fantastic food for a good price then plan accordingly !
