Newly opened, we think (can not remember that it is here last year) we past a scorching hot day to try it for a late lunch. Big oysters, the choice of the island or their own “brand” we tried a dozen of them and they were...fantastic. Followed by the largest sweetest longoustine and washed with rose. Good bread, too. Service really attentive, but relaxed. A new favorite!
Newly opened we think (can’t remember it being here last year) we cycled over on a scorching hot day to try it for a late lunch. Great oysters, choice of island or their own “brand” we tried a dozen of those and they were...fantastic. Followed by the biggest sweetest langoustine and washed down with rose. Good bread too. Service really attentive but relaxed. A new favourite!
What a fab stop off point on the cycle route. Excellent waitress service and The Fruits de Mer platter was excellent, a lovely chilled .5l of Rose with wonderful views of the Ocean, what more can one ask for! Make the effort to stop off...here as you will not be disappointed. Thank you and well done!
Cabanajam is located on the cycle path just outside St Martin and is a great place to try all the local specialities. It seems to be much more reasonably priced than many of the other restaurants in the area, especially those on the port. The plate of pink prawns and the moules marinieres are both good value at €9. The mixed seafood platters are great to share and start at €17. As to be expected from a cafe at the oyster farm, it is a bit rough around the edges so don't expect finely prepared dishes but the food is as fresh as it gets and the drinks are local and just as reasonably priced. Well worth a visit if you're in the area.
