Friendly staff, comfortable rooms and a good breakfast. We have a relaxing and delicious evening meal on the terrace, very welcome after a long day in the car.
This was the second time that we stopped at "Le Prieuré" on our way to the little town of La Celle Dunoise in the Creuse department. We arrived at 6:30 pm, sat in the garden and had an aperitif before dinner at 7:00. The restaurant offers a few regional dishes. Our choice was fillet of pike-perch that was cooked with great care. Service is relaxed but attentive and despite the £ sudden collapse after Brexit, the bill was still more than reasonable. All in all a great stop, close to the motorway to Limoges, but still off the beaten track.
Had our best food here during our 2 week cycle tour through France. French food at its best. We had a set meal but with a choice of fish or chicken for the main. Portions were generous and everything was very well presented. House wine was excellent and very good value for money.
We had a great evening meal here on an overnight stopover. the kidneys were to die. for in a really pleasant ambience in this family run hotel.Everyone pulls their weight here and it works well.Recommend that if you stay in this excellent and reasonably priced hotel, do half board as its a real bargainVery dog friendly as well
We were there with family of 2 children any had 2 menus degustation and 2 menus enfants. The adult menus were ok, but nothing to go out of your way for. The children's menu were just not good with a totally dry and unflavoury piece of chicken. The restaurant was lastly decorated in the 70s so don't expect anything fancy. Service was good & there are plenty of parking places outside.
