Alpha Brewing Company - Saint Louis

We stopped by alpha brewing yesterday and both the beer and food did not disappoint. Their beer menu featured many light sours, which is my favorite style at the moment, but also included other typical styles. The beers we sampled were very good. They offer 5oz tasting pours as well as full pours so you can try more selections. They also had several flavors or seltzers on tap. We stopped in for a beer on the patio but decided we needed to sample their food as well, which was a good decision. We had wings with Tassies dry rub, which were large and flavorful, and original shoestring flies which had a unique but great flavor. We also sampled a pickled veggie appetizer with featured carrots, bok choy, brussel sprouts and radishes. This was a great find and we will be looking to stop in again soon.

This brewery has a fantastic location for enjoying a beer tasting and a burger. We really appreciate the relaxed and social atmosphere on the terrace.

EDIT: I visited during Burger Week (July 2022) to grab dinner for my husband who was running late while I was working. They had a special Burger Week setup at the bar. I ordered two burgers and a side of fries, but was informed that they couldn't accommodate that order. Frustrated, I left and ended up rummaging through my kitchen for a late-night meal instead. I understand that they primarily make their profit from beer sales, and if I took my food home, they might miss out on that revenue. However, I found the prices for the burgers to be steep, especially considering the special event—$8 per burger, even at a discounted rate. The goal of Burger Week is to attract customers to enjoy the experience and encourage them to return, so this was quite disappointing. I do enjoy being part of the neighborhood and will still share my experiences with friends, but this visit did not meet my expectations.

I absolutely loved this brewery! As a fan of sour beers, I found their selection to be outstanding. The variety of sours aged in unique wine barrels was particularly impressive. I also appreciated the option to create a flight with as many beers as we wanted, which allowed us to sample all the different sours. The staff was incredibly friendly, and the atmosphere was fantastic. I was visiting New York, but if I lived here, I would definitely be a regular. I'll be back on my next visit for sure!
