Les Fendilles Sucrees

My family (two kids + partner) and I had a wonderful evening at this Cabane a Sucre. Located about 45 mins northeast of Montreal (easily accessible by highway), it is in an area that has a number of other cabanes à sucre but has the advantage to be hidden in the forest, away from the others. The owners are very welcoming and it is a great place that is not too commercial (unlike most cabane à sucre). The meal was good (not outstanding), but quantities were very large (as expected from such a place) and the price was very fair. They have some trails in the back that allow walking through the Maple forest. Out of cabanes a sucre I have done over the years, this one clearly stand out as one of the best ones! And my kids simply loved it!

J'adore les petites cabanes à sucre rustiques! Celle-ci a été quelque peu décevante: soupe aux pois, jambon, pommes de terre rôties, crêpes frites, rien de tout cela n'avait beaucoup de goût. L'omelette (elle aussi sans vraiment de goût) ressemblait plus à des oeufs brouillés. Mes attentes étaient peut-être trop élevées, car les commentaires que j'avais lus étaient tous excellents, mais j'en suis sortie déçue.

I don't say this lightly, but Bub and Pop's served me the best sandwich I've had all year.

Easily the best sandwiches in DCMy favorite sandwich is the fried chicken cutlet hoagie -- delicious! The desserts are also tasty.
