Le Chene Pendragon

Having previously stopped at this hotel but on a Sunday evening when the restaurant was closed we booked again but made sure the restaurant was open. We were not disappointed. The owner/chef takes a personal interest in ensuring his customers have relaxed and enjoyable time. Enjoy!

Totale rip off,overpriced,chaotic service,present themself as not snackbar but proper restaurant as they said,when I complained about Bill,the interior looks run down,at least where I was,indeed more like local pub,and service total chaotic, not reccomendable,very disappointed after having to pay 49 euro for 1 glas of wine ,liter of San Pellegrino,4 fried squidrings with a leaf of salad,5 Coquilles St Jaques with a bit of Puree and a crème brulée after,20 euro overpriced

We were pleased with our rooms at La Maison Saint Leger but arriving in town around supper time, were delighted to learn that we wouldn't have to search high and low for a dinner place. Our hotel hostess, Stephanie?, said she works some nights at Chene and would make reservations for when they opened at 7. After i saw TripAdvisor reviews, i was even happier about the coincidence that it was right next to our lodging. We each found offerings on the prix fix menue...2 of us selecting 3 courses, the other two the 2-course menu and a medium expensive bottle of St.Emillion Gran Cru to accompany. My son-in-law pronounced this the best meal of our France-in-5-days dining. The service was a bit slow, given that we were nearly the only ones there...ESPECIALLY when we asked for the bill...but all agreed that the food and welcome made up for that shortcoming. The total was a reasonable-for-the-quality-dining experience 149€.
