La Cantinella - Saint John

We had the absolute pleasure of enjoying a spectacular Valentine's dinner at this beautiful heritage spot in St. George last night.I worked in the fine dining restaurant industry in Toronto for 12 years and this beautiful gem definitely held its own in flavour, consistency, service and atmosphere.We started with the mouth watering panko bocconcini balls. My husband enjoyed both the Chicken Parm and the Gorgonzola Gnocchi. I kept my portions moderate and treated the antipasti Sauteed Calamari as my main which was perfectly balanced and exploding with flavour. I finished it off with a lovely Salade Mista.Sadly, no room was left to enjoy a dessert last night but without a doubt we will be returning to La Cantinella for other occasions to enjoy some other delights that we liked the looks of on their menu.Unfortunately I didn't catch our servers name as I would like to thank her for her wonderful service and for helping make our Valentine's evening an extra special treat.Without a doubt I fully recommend that you check out this special spot the next chance you get.

Real, well prepared Italian food. Service is friendly

This restaurant is wonderful! Great service and atmosphere, lots of character not your average 4 walls restaurant! Their food is amazing! I started with the beet, goat cheese and walnut salad and my main was the garlic fettuccine with shrimp and scallops... both were absolutely delicious!Our first time there and an absolute guarantee that I will go back very soon!

Amazing atmosphere, fantastic personal and delicious eating. a hidden gem in st george, but the journey worth it.
