Island Girls Diner - Saint John

Island Girls Diner is a casual roadside restaurant located on the western outskirts of Saint John serving all day breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

This is a place to avoid.__The service is a joke We were a group of 5 and it took them 5 attempts to get the orders right.

One of my main places to eat especially if I'm looking for delicious home cooked meals and delicious homemade desserts. The staff are very friendly and attentive and make you feel at home.

Two weeks ago, my girlfriend suggested we take my mother to a restaurant that would be a welcome change to the type of eating establishment to which we normally attend. WOW, was I pleasantly surprised. Mother, who happens to be a tad picky asked for an item which wasn't on the menu and our waitress who we found out later, was also a part owner, gladly indicated that kitchen staff could easily put together a mean grilled cheese. My girlfriend ordered the hot turkey. The portion was plentiful, the food was delectable (her words) and the ambiance of the beach kept her attention away from the expedition to which I undertook. Ever the optimist, I ordered the largest breakfast item on the menu. This concoction consisted of toast, ham, sausage, home fries, bologna, bacon and eggs. Here is what set the service apart from other establishments; our waitress asked what type of eggs I wanted to which I replied, "surprise me", She did by bringing two raw eggs in egg cups to our table. Bless her sense of humour. It was very refreshing. As a sidenote, my actual edible eggs were delicious. To summarize, excellent food and exemplary service will keep us coming back. Well done ladies!

It's National Fish 'n Chips day so the girls and I thought we'd go to Island Girls for none other than Fish and Chips. Two girls ordered fish & chips ($9.99) and two girls orders fish/scallops & chips ($13.49). I'm really glad that I ordered the scallops as well as the fish, because the fish was nothing to rave about - a very very tiny piece of fish with lots of batter. Atmosphere was very dated. Will probably not be returning was the consensus.
