Restaurant Le 1838 - Saint-Jérôme

We visited the night before the National Day celebration, so the restaurant was quite busy and everyone seemed surprised by the number of customers. Despite not having a reservation, they made an effort to seat us. The service was efficient and friendly throughout. The wine prices were reasonable. We tried the perfectly cooked scallops, the cheese and pear tart, and the roast pork for two. The appetizers were excellent. While the pork was slightly dry, the vegetables that came with it were well-prepared. I would definitely return to this restaurant.

Lunch menu with different specials depending on the season is always interesting. The food is very good and the ambiance cosy. We loved the home made chips served as you sit at the table...nice touch and great chips! Recommend all the tartars!Nice find in St Jérome.....

In early April I had dinner here with two of my girlfriends before a play and it was really good not to mention interesting presentations of the food. The 3 meals were tandoori chicken with a lovely salad roll-up and an extensive choice of potatoes or wild rice and pulled duck with pasta. There was also a nice selection of wines.The only draw back is that it appears to be a fairly new restaurant and they were a little understaffed but it was a Sunday night.

While taking a leisurely walk along the Bordeaux waterfront, we stumbled upon this charming beach bar.

Great place! The view is amazing, perfect for enjoying a drink while watching the sun set over the Garonne River and the Pont de Pierre.
